The term Bomas, meaning "homestead", each represent one of Kenya's major ethnic groups, and is built to the original traditional architecture of an African home as built by the ancestors. You can view traditional villages representing the lifestyle of ethnic groups such as Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Luhya, Taita, Embu, Maasai, Kamba, Kisii, Kuria, Mijikenda and Luo. The greatest excitement of this visit in the afternoon will be a display of traditional dances, music and other folklore traditional songs in a splendid arena. It’s an excellent choice of visit as welcome or farewell.Nairobi National Park is the only existing Wildlife Park situated in a capital city in the world. This unique wildlife sanctuary is tucked just 10 kms away from the bustling city centre. Several animal species roam within this park including four members of the Big Five, exceptional being the Elephant. Animals to be found here include; large predators - Lion, Leopard, Hyena and Cheetah. Large herbivores - Eland, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Black Rhinoceros and other species including Diverse bird life. Departure time is 0800hrs. Mt Longonot is a migratory route for game moving from Hell’s Gate south towards Suswa and the Maasai Mara. The slopes of the mountain attract many grazing animals, and climbers will often see zebra, buffalo, gazelle, and the rare Mountain reedbuck. Leopard tracks are often seen on the mountain pathways. Trekking - Mt Longonot (2100m) is an enjoyable way to spend a day. The views from the top across to Naivasha and the Aberdares are sensational, and the views of the crater within the mountain even more breathtaking. A rafting trip on the river offers a combination of 16 kms of White Water (up to Class V in season) and 12 km... These excursions are seasonal depending on the water levels. For the ultimate magical experience, you must board the Tamarind Dhow. The Tamarind Dhow “Nawalicker” (meaning Gateway to Heaven) was built in 1977 for trading. At 23 metres, she is the largest dhow on the coast. Purchased in 1986, she was converted for restaurant use by her original builder Fundi Bini on Lamu Island, under the watchful eye of Mohammed Shalle, who is still her captain today.As soon as you step off the gangplank, you are met by a traditionally-dressed waiter who shows you to your table and serves you with a ‘Dawa’ the house cocktail made with vodka, lime, honey, sugar and crushed ice. As the dhow slips gently away from the jetty, the resident band starts to play and you quickly fall under the spell of the magical Tamarind atmosphere.
